THE Cebu Pacific Air has canceled 12 domestic flights following the temporary closure of Mactan-Cebu International Airport due to scheduled maintenance work and pavement repairs of its runway on Friday.
The canceled July 21 flights include 5J 561 / 5J 554 Manila-Cebu-Manila, 5J 586/5J 551 Cebu-Manila-Cebu, 5J 562 / 5J 553 Cebu-Manila-Cebu, 5J 563/ 5J 564 Manila-Cebu-Manila, 5J 608 Cebu-Clark, 5J 611 Davao-Cebu and DG 6588/ DG 6589 Cebu-Ormoc-Cebu.
“Cebu Pacific has canceled the following flights due to the temporary closure of the runway at the Mactan Cebu International Airport from 2:30 am to 8:30 am on July 21, 2017, Friday, due to scheduled maintenance work and pavement repairs,” the airline stated in its advisory.
The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines on Thursday released a Notice to Airmen regarding the six-hour closure at the airport, which will affect timings of some Cebu Pacific flights in Manila.
Affected passengers of the cancelled flights were advised to avail any themselves of the following options without penalties: Rebook their flights for travel within 30 days from original departure date; or option for full refund or travel fund.
Also as a result of the temporary runway closure, according to Cebu Pacific Air management, a number of domestic and international flights to and from the following destinations on July 21 might be delayed:
Domestic: Clark (CRK), Bacolod (BCD), Busuanga (USU), Butuan (BXU), Cagayan (CGY), Caticlan (MPH), Camiguin (CGM), Davao (DVO), Dipolog (DPL), Dumaguete (DGT), Iloilo (Iloilo), Kalibo (KLO), Legazpi (LGP), Ormoc (OMC), Ozamiz (OZC), Pagadian (PAG), Puerto, Princesa (PPS), Siargao (IAO), Surigao (SUG) and Tacloban (TAC).
International: Hong Kong (HKG) and Taipei (TPE)
“We sincerely hope for our passengers’ understanding, as this situation is beyond our control,” the airline stated.
