Two killed in ‘shootout’

TWO unidentified motorcycle riders allegedly involved in the shooting of four civilians were killed by Caloocan City policemen in a supposed shootout during a dragnet operations along Camarin Road in  Barangay 178 on Sunday.

The police claimed the 1 p.m. shootout took place along Raja Sulayman Street, Sto. Niño, Maligaya, Barangay 178 and resulted in the injury of Noel Kilantang, 40; female identified as Teresa aged 40-45 years old; Jeffrey Cacheco, 35; and Mark Jayson Cacheco, two years old. The Cachecos were confined at different hospitals after sustained gunshot wounds.

A concerned citizen reported the incident to the barangay which was eventually relayed to police community precinct 5. Authorities on patrol along Camarin Road, in Barangay 178 spotted a motorcycle with two riders who fit the description of the suspects and upon noticing the mobile car, the motorcycle hastily turned towards SMMI at Phase 6 prompting the policemen to pursue.

The back rider successively fired shots which prompted the police to returned fire that resulted in the death of the suspects.
