THE man mistakenly identified as the road rage killer of a biker in Quiapo, Manila last July 25 filed on Friday a complaint for online libel against editors and publishers of Top Gear Philippines before the National Bureau of Investigation.

The NBI said Nestor Punzalan filed the complaint against Top Gear Philippines editor-in-chief Vernon Sarne, online associate editor Dinzo Tabamo, online managing editor Tracy Carpena, publisher Jeffrey Reyes and publisher Adelbert Christopher de Jesus.

Punzalan, who personally filed the complaint, also asked Sarne to resign even if the latter already apologized for erroneously tagging him as the owner of the red Hyundai Eon which figured in the road rage incident.

Sarne said on July 27 that he was taking “full responsibility” for posting the link to Punzalan’s Facebook profile and photo of the car.

The Manila Police District later found out that the suspect was identified as former Philippine Army reservist Vhon Tanto who shot and killed cyclist and gaming attendant Mark Vincent Garalde.
