Cops have arrested construction worker Carmelino Ibanez, 26 years old.

He had supposedly confessed to having committed the killing and rape of Aurora Dizon and Estrella Carlos.

He is said to have also admitted to the killing of Carlos' three children in the victims' apartment in Barangay Sto Cristo, San Jose Del Monte.

In reaction to the arrest, security guard Dexter Carlos, the husband of Estrella and father of the kids, said he recognized Ibanez as a person he had once seen buying water from them.

The suspect allegedly did not have any shirt on and was accompanied by 3 other men at that time.

He had advised his wife to be careful about those men as they looked like they might be troublesome.

He had told his wife to lock the doors.

Ibanez was a brother of an acquaintance of Dexter.

Dexter had told the police to hunt these men following his discovery of the dead bodies of his family.

He does not believe Ibanez was alone when he committed the gruesome crime.

"Hindi ako naniniwala sa tao na yan na sya lang lahat ang may gawa (I don't believe in what that man said that he alone perpetrated the crime)," he said.

A witness had also seen Ibanez as he was leaving the victims' home.

The witness said the suspect was full of blood.

54 stab wounds were found on Estrella's body, while her old mother Aurora sustained 32 stab wound.

Multiple stab wounds were also found on the bodies of the three kids.
