ILAGAN CITY, Isabela—A case of falsification of public documents was filed against the provincial information officer here according to the Civil Service Commission in Tuguegarao City in Cagayan.

Jessie James Geronimo, Isabela Provincial Information Officer, was acused of tampering with his civil service eligibility examination result (career professional) from a failing grade of 17.0 to 92.6 to enable him to pass the qualifying mark in the October 2013 examinations.

Geronimo, a recomendee of Isabela Provincial Administrator Noel Manuel Lopez, was an office staff in the provincial administrator’s office in 2012 when he was promoted to his current post.

He was appointed as the provincial information officer in an officer-in-charge capacity after former PIO Alvin Paraz passed away in 2013 due to heart ailment.
