Water firm Maynilad has rescheduled its service interruptions to October 29 to November 1 for a pipe realignment activity in Manila.

The water service interruptions were originally planned for October 25 to 28, but Maynilad decided to move it to the All Saints’ Day or Undas holiday weekend following a “deluge of requests from customers to defer the activity so they have more time to prepare.”

“This coincides with the break for Undas when people typically go to the provinces and fewer customers are expected to be home, thus mitigating the impact of the service interruptions on consumers,” Maynilad said in a statement.

“Given the deferment, Maynilad will also use the extra time to further increase our available complement of mobile water tankers and stationary water tanks, with the assistance of local government units and the local fire bureaus.”

The list of affected areas and their corresponding service interruption schedules remain the same, with only the dates of implementation pushed back, Maynilad said.

The service interruptions will cover Las Piñas, Makati, Manila, Parañaque, Pasay, Cavite City and Bacoor, Imus, Kawit, Noveleta and Rosario, all in Cavite.

Earlier, Maynilad said the pipe realignment for the government’s flood control project would result in water supply interruptions from 25 up to 85 hours.
