Northern Luzon Isko supporters mobilize for ‘Maring’ victims

Supporters of Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso in Northern Luzon have mobilized their volunteer organizations to extend help to their provincemates affected by Typhoon Maring.

The ISKO Northern Alliance (INA), a member of the National Alliance for Isko (NAISKO) and Ikaw Muna Pilipinas (IMP), have initiated relief operations in several areas in the calamity-hit Ilocos, Cagayan and Cordillera regions.

Leaders of the volunteer groups have coordinated with the office of the Manila mayor for the provision of goods and other needed assistance in the typhoon-affected areas.

Other organizations supporting Domagoso’s presidential bid from the National Capital Region and other parts of Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao have responded to the call for help and support for their Ilocano brothers and sisters.

Torrential rains and strong winds whipped Monday through Benguet and other northern Luzon areas due to ‘Maring.’

According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, at least 11 persons died while seven remain missing during the onslaught of the severe tropical storm.

At least 45 flooding and 14 landslide incidents were also reported.
