The Department of Health on Saturday advised the public to remain vigilant and to strictly follow the health protocols despite the decrease in new COVID-19 cases, noting that 93 areas nationwide remain under Alert Level 4, meaning their hospital utilization rate is at 70 percent or higher.

Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said in Metro Manila alone, hospitals are still full, with an average intensive care unit utilization rate of 76 percent.

“We are reminding everyone that we cannot be complacent at this point. We must continue what we are doing now to decongest the hospitals,” she said.

The country on Saturday logged 14,786 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total to 2,580,173.

The DOH also reported 164 new fatalities and 894 new recoveries.
