Former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. will win in next year’s presidential race without the necessity of brilliant political strategists and tacticians, a top official of the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas said on Thursday.

“Our bet for the 2022 presidential race is a thinker who’s intellectually alert and holds a deep understanding and experience of the country’s entire electoral processes,” said PFP secretary general Tom Lantion in a statement.

“Aside from being a man of decency, he’s also a man of action with few words that needs no coaching about the art of winning a political race,” Lantion added.

Lantion, a distinguished retired police general, responded to persistent queries regarding the apparent absence of well-known political operators working for Bongbong’s presidential run.

The PFP secretary general was referring to presidential contenders who’ve reportedly hired prominent figures this early as political handlers that would map out and operate their campaign strategies.

Reports have it that a famous poll operator who once worked as chief tactician of former President Gloria Arroyo is now working for the Lacson-Sotto tandem, while another political handler who reportedly used to run the campaign of former President Joseph Estrada is now with the Domagoso-Ong team.

A famous lady broadcaster is currently handling Senator Manny Pacquiao’s media team, he added.

“Those teams of presidentiables might really need excellent minds to draw and run their propaganda and poll campaign, but not for Bongbong… who only needs dedicated men who can be trusted and who know how to apply common sense,” Lantion said.

The PFP official described those on board the Marcos team as unassuming seasoned players whose minds are set solely on the vision of the Bongbong presidency.

Lantion pointed out that the name Bongbong Marcos is like a medicine brand that can be bought over the counter even without a doctor’s prescription.

“After more than seven decades, the Marcos brand in national politics is still in great demand sans the promotions and advertisement,” Lantion noted.

“But of course, a political party without excess baggage can carry its candidates to their journey comfortably,” the PFP leader emphasized.
