P6.2M in party drugs seized

Clark Freeport—About P6.2 million worth of sex enhancing drugs were intercepted by government authorities through interdiction operations at Barangay San Francisco, Mabalacat City Thursday afternoon, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency announced Friday.

PDEA provincial chief Joseph Samson said the illegal drugs, neatly stuffed in parcels, were shipped via the postal office of Mabalacat City, and was consigned to a certain Zhyrelle Marquez Ancheta.

The parcels originated from Germany. It was shipped by Kevin Owen. No specific address was mentioned in the package.

Samson said the parcels were initially intercepted by Philpost Inspectorate Service in Pasay City and were placed under controlled delivery in coordination with the PDEA, Bureau of Customs and the local police.

He said the parcels were claimed by Agatha Lavadia Palen, 27, of C-2 Feliciano Compound, Mabalacat City who showed an authorization letter on behalf of Ancheta.

Palen was arrested and yielded 3,100 pieces of Ecstasy with current street value of P6.2 million; an Iphone7 cellular phone; a Philpost official acknowledgement receipt; a registry notice; authorization letter and photocopy of Zhyrelle M. Ancheta ID; one parcel delivery notice; and signature record from courier service.

Samson said follow-up operations were launched against Ancheta who was out of her residence when checked by PDEA and BoC agents.

Palen was brought to PDEA provincial headquarters for further investigation as violation of the Section 4 (importation of dangerous drugs) will be charged against her and the consignee.
