The Quezon City Police District on Wednesday relieved 15 of its operatives for the escape of six Chinese detainees from Camp Karingal.

Brig. Gen. Ronnie Montejo, QCPD director, said the 15 police officers, who were assigned at the District Mobile Force Battalion, were disarmed and would face charges of violation of Article 224 of the Revised Penal Code or the evasion through negligence.

The policemen would also be slapped with administrative case.

Montejo identified the six Chinese nationals as Zhang Yi Xin, Ludong Jin, Song Qicheng, Lu Yinliang, Huang Yong Qiao and Chen Bin.

The Chinese men were among the 342 foreign nationals who were arrested by the Bureau of Immigration in December 2019 for working without permit and visa at a Philippine offshore gaming operator.

Authorities were able to re-arrest the six escapees in Barangay Krus ng Ligas on Tuesday night.

The six foreigners were spotted standing near a creek along Mapagkumbaba Street corner Fulgencio Street.

Police discovered the six Chinese nationals were missing during an evening headcount last June 22.
