The First 1,000 Days (F1KD) of Life conditional cash grant under the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) is not only for pregnant women, but also for children zero to two years old.
4Ps social marketing division chief Marie Grace Ponce issued this clarification, saying the DSWD has expanded the program's coverage to better help the public.
“The coverage of our program is either pregnant women or zero to two years old children. So it doesn’t matter if the grantee is a mother or father; the important thing is that the grantee is either his wife or child who will be included in our F1KD program,” Ponce said in Filipino.
The F1KD is set to boost the nutrition-specific benefits among 4Ps beneficiaries, particularly for household-beneficiaries with pregnant and lactating mothers nursing new born babies.
To receive the monthly F1KD grants, all qualified 4Ps beneficiaries must comply with the requirements of the program, including accessing pre-natal services at DOH-accredited health facilities, tracking pregnancy and receiving ante-natal care services, child birthing or delivery at a DOH-accredited health facility, attending post-natal visits, participating in counselling sessions, and obtaining micronutrient supplements and immunizations, Ponce said.
Ponce urged qualified 4Ps members to update their beneficiary profile manually through forms provided by city or municipal links, or digitally through the i-Registro web portal.
The i-Registro is a new digital platform that will enable beneficiaries to update their information. It can be accessed through https://iregistro-4ps.dswd.gov.ph.
However, 4Ps beneficiaries may only choose one method of updating their records to prevent duplication of entries.
Launched in 2008 and institutionalized by Republic Act (RA) 11310 in 2019, the 4Ps is a national poverty reduction strategy and human capital investment program that provides conditional cash transfer to poor households for a maximum period of seven years to improve the children’s health, nutrition, and education.
The 4Ps F1KD took effect this January.
