The Joint Task Force (JTF) Central artillery units conducted an initial site survey for the possible training venues for a joint littoral live fire exercise (JLLFX) which is planned to be implemented in early 2025.
The Task Force is composed of the Philippine Army’s Artillery Regiment 6th Field Artillery Battalion (6FAB), 7FAB, 9FAB, and 10FAB, Philippine Marine Corps’ 15th Marine Company (15MC), Field Artillery Battalion of the 1st Marine Brigade and the Philippine Navy.
The purpose of the survey is the ensure the availability, suitability, and training-worthiness of possible locations.
The JLLX is designed to develop and enhance the skills, capabilities, and interoperability of artillery units within JTF Central to fire howitzers toward the sea in the most probable avenues of approach of attacking forces, strengthening the territorial defense of the country.
