BORACAY, Aklan—The Aklan provincial government on Thursday bared it has partnered with PisoPay for the implementation of iPass or a unified ticketing system to ease visitors’ travel to this island-resort.
Aklan Gov. Jose Enrique Miraflores told reporters that the iPass would make travel to this resort island seamless especially during the holiday rush.
Miraflores was joined by PisoPay president Ariel Surca and businessman Bong Tirol.
“This would surely boost the tourism of Boracay. We received unsolicited proposals from other companies, but the PisoPay so far provided best offer,” Miraflores added.
The PisoPay would now take charge in collecting P150 for terminal fees, P150 for environmental fee and P50 for a boat ride. Foreign tourists are charged P300 each.
Tourists are urged to register in advance using the PisoPay website. PisoPay staff will assist tourists at the Caticlan port booth.
