The latest batch of 699 Army recruits composing the “Siklas Matatag” Class of the Candidate Soldier Course have completed their four-month training as a pre-condition to their enlistment in the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).

Army spokesman Col. Louie Dema-ala said the graduation ceremony was held at the Headquarters Training and Doctrine Command in Camp O'Donnell, Capas, Tarlac on Friday.

Camilo Chatto Jr. graduated on top of his class with the rank of Private and received a cash gift from the Armed Forces and Police Savings and Loans Association, Inc. (AFPSLAI). He was followed by Danny Bautista Jr. and Melvin Meniano, while Jolan Balon bagged the Physical Proficiency Award.

“The Philippine Army is currently implementing a centralized recruitment program for recruits, designed to pick capable and qualified applicants in a systematic and efficient manner,” Dema-ala said.

The recruitment program enhances the effectiveness and efficiency of the recruitment process to ensure that the best and most qualified candidates are selected in accordance with the needs and required competencies of the Army.
