President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Sunday greeted former First Lady Imelda Marcos through a vlog where he depicted his mother as a “simple” person who could win anyone’s heart.
The vlog was uploaded on Marcos Jr.’s social media accounts days after the former First Lady celebrated her 95th birthday in Malacañan Palace.
“She is really provincial. She’s really promdi and I’m proud of it,” the President said.
“She has not lost his simple person, so no matter who she talks to, she immediately becomes her friend,” he said.
Mrs. Marcos focused on the development of specialty hospitals such as the National Kidney Center, the National Children’s Hospital, the Heart Center of the Philippines and the Lung Center of the Philippines, President Marcos said.
The former first lady also invested in developing art and Filipino talent after the Marcos patriarch told her to “take care of the soul” of the nation, he said.
“What she enjoyed the most was the arts and she was so happy that Filipinos’ talent at these things helped her to be released and recognized by the whole world,” he said.
