Women of the Philippine Air Force (PAF) on Monday led the parade of Air Force Ground-Based Air Defense Systems (GBADS) during its 77th anniversary celebration in Basa Air Base, Pampanga, highlighting its capability to detect and destroy short to medium-range aerial threats.

The celebration kicked off with a PAF demonstration showcasing its ability to seize control of enemy-occupied territory.

The scenario featured fighter jets neutralizing enemy aircraft and conducting a bomb-run to destroy enemy command and control infrastructure, followed by targeted surface attacks from PAF’s A29B Super Tucano aircraft.

Black Hawk helicopters, equipped with Fast Rope Insertion and Extrication Systems (FRIES), then deployed special operations forces for rapid infiltration.

Showcasing another potential for innovation, the PAF demonstrated the use of the Guided Precision Aerial Delivery System (GPADS).

Two FA-50PH jets performed a high-speed opener pass to officially start the program. A formation flight of T-41 and SF-260 aircraft formed the number “77,” symbolizing the years of excellence and service of the PAF.

Attendees also had an up-close look at the parade of PAF Unit colors, GBADS, Mobile Air Surveillance Radar, V150 Armored Vehicles, and witnessed a flyby of Air Assets and Flags.

The program concluded with a powerful final pass by three (3) A-29B Super Tucano aircraft.
