LTO, Baguio digital tie-up for road safety

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has tied up with Baguio City for digital interconnectivity to promote road safety

LTO chief Vigor Mendoza II and Mayor Benjamin Magalong forged an agreement meant to link the agency’s data to the city government “to pave the way for a hassle-free enforcement of traffic rules and regulations.”

“Baguio is the first major city in Northern Luzon that will now interlink with our information system and I’m sure that this exchange of information will be both helpful in terms of traffic management in terms of disciplining our drivers, in terms of streamlining the payment of penalties,” Mendoza said.

The interconnectivity program is essential in the ongoing program of Baguio City toward smart mobility.

The LTO has been exerting efforts to digitalize its services, including traffic rules and regulations enforcement, for the safety of all road users nationwide.

“Baguio is spearheading smart mobility, which I have not seen in any part of the country. It would also be good to include this smart mobility program and hopefully make it a model for other cities,” Mendoza said.
