A magnitude 5.1 earthquake was recorded in Gigmoto, Catanduanes, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said early Saturday morning.
In its Earthquake Information Number 2 advisory, Phivolcs said the tremor was recorded at 8:41am with the epicenter traced to 14.05 degrees north, 124.74 degrees east- 048 km north 53 degrees east of Gigmoto.
The Phivolcs also said that an Intensity I advisory was placed in Tabaco, Albay.
“No damage was monitored but aftershocks were expected,” the Phivolcs said.
