A total of P13.6 million worth of illegal drugs were confiscated from a senior citizen and three others following a joint law enforcement operation in Zamboanga City on Monday.
Members of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Regional Drug Enforcement Unit worked with the Philippine Navy to apprehend the individuals in Barangay Tumaga, according to Naval Forces Western Mindanao Acting Public Affairs Officer Lieutenant Chester Ross Cabaltera.
“The arrested individuals include a female senior citizen, another female and a male,” Cabaltera in a statement.
The seized methamphetamine or ‘shabu,’ in conversational language, were taken to the Regional Forensic Unit for quantitative and qualitative analysis.
The suspects are currently held at the Zamboanga City Police detention facility.
Follow-up investigation is ongoing.
