Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Commandant Admiral Ronnie Gil Gavan lauded the successful humanitarian mission in Balabac and Mangsee Island, Palawan, from April 21 to April 27.

Thousands of residents from the Balabac and Mangsee Island received free medical consultations and dental services as well as hygiene kits, clean clothes, and medicines.

The Coast Guard Civil Relations Service (CGCRS) and Coast Guard District Palawan (CGDPAL) supported the initiative, organized by the YWAM Ships Philippines.

The organization brought doctors who are based abroad.

The BRP Cabra (MRRV-4409) and BRP Sindangan (MRRV-4407) also augmented the humanitarian mission.

“We recognize the valuable service of our Coast Guardians, especially the men and women of BRP Cabra (MRRV-4409) and BRP Sindangan (MRRV-4407) who are currently deployed in the West Philippine Sea (WPS). These two vessels joined the mission to reach our kababayans

and bring needed public service to far-flung communities,” Admiral Gavan said.
