NCRPO drug agents seize P860-k shabu, arrest five in separate raids

The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) on Tuesday announced the arrest of at least five suspected drug traffickers and the confiscation of a significant amount of illegal substances during a series of anti-narcotics operations in Metro Manila last Monday.

The first buy-bust raid was conducted in Barangay 111, Pasay City, in close coordination with various units of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, Station Drug Enforcement Unit of Pasay City, and its Sub-Station 4.

Two other suspects, one of them a minor, were arrested, while P680,000-worth of shabu was seized. The 16-year-old suspect and his companion identified as Cedric Magadia Duran, 20, were caught with 100 grams of shabu, a mobile phone, and the marked money used in the entrapment operation.

On the same day, another police operation was conducted in Barangay Pinagbuhatan, Pasig City, by the District Drug Enforcement Unit and Pasig City Anti-Drugs Abuse Office, resulting in the apprehension of Benjamin Languido Cariman, 44, and the seizure of 26.9 grams of suspected shabu worth P182,920.

Around 7 p.m., police also arrested two suspected drug dealers in Barangay Payatas, Quezon City, and confiscated 18 grams of shabu.

Another buy-bust operation held in Barangay Malanday, Marikina City, resulted in the arrest of Aldrin Caydoy Rebusto, alias “Ipit.”

NCRPO director Maj. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. commended his men for their latest accomplishment and affirmed to intensify law enforcement efforts against drug-related activities.

Nartatez also said they will increase surveillance, intelligence gathering, and coordination among agencies to intercept and apprehend drug personalities in Metro Manila.
