Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) commandant Admiral Ronnie Gil Gavan has ordered the arrest of alleged illegal recruiter identified as Lowell Ace Dalnay of Parañaque City.
PCG spokesman Rear Admiral Armando Balilo said they received a report from an applicant regarding a person offering assistance to PCG applicants in exchange for money.
The PCG immediately coordinated with the Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group Southern Police District (PNP-CIDG SPD) for the conduct of an entrapment operation.
Upon confirmation of the payment transaction, the PCG-PNP team immediately apprehended the suspect.
The operation resulted in the arrest of Dalnay who was allegedly posing as a police intelligence officer.
The marked money of P 40,000 was recovered from the suspect.
He was taken to PNP-CIDG SPD for booking and filing of appropriate charges.
The PCG encourages the public to report illegal recruiters to the PCG Human Resource Management Command (CGHRMC) Grievance Desk at 0929-314-1684 for swift and appropriate measures.
