The confirmation of Department of Finance (DOF) Secretary Ralph Recto will be a breeze, Surigao del Sur Rep. Johnny Pimentel said.
He said the bicameral Commission on Appointments will deliberate on Recto’s designation on Wednesday.
He said he also sees “smooth sailing” when it comes to Recto’s confirmation as finance chief on March 13.
“The CA’s committee on finance, chaired by Senator Ramon Revilla Jr., will hold its confirmation hearing on Secretary Recto’s ad-interim appointment on March 13,” he said.
“It will likely be a breeze for Secretary Recto. He will likely be accorded the courtesy of a swift confirmation, considering that he used to be a member of both the House of Representatives and the Senate,” he said.
The powerful CA is composed of 12 members each from the House and the Senate with the Senate President as ex-officio presiding officer.
