Tulfo tops senatorial survey

Broadcaster Raffy Tulfo topped Pulse Asia Research Inc.’s Eleksyon 2022 senatorial aspirants survey, which was conducted from January 19 to 24, before the start of the campaign period.

The survey showed Tulfo with a 66.1 percent rating, ahead of Former House Speaker and Taguig Representative Alan Peter Cayetano and Antique Representative Loren Legarda with 58.2 pertcent and 58 percent, respectively.

Sorsogon Governor Francis “Chiz” Escudero followed with 55.7 percent, former Department of Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar with 52.9 percent, and Senator Juan Miguel Zubiri with 50.3 percent.

According to Pulse Asia, among the 64 individuals seeking a Senate seat in the 2022 elections, 13 have a statistical chance of winning.

The other senatorial candidates with a statistical chance of winning as of January 2022 were Senator Sherwin Gatchalian (45.9 percent), former vice president Jejomar Binay (44.5 percent), former senator Jinggoy Estrada (40.4 percent), Senator Joel Villanueva (40.4 percent), Senator Risa Hontiveros

(37.1 percent), actor Robin Padilla (35.9 percent), and former senator JV Estrada Ejercito (33.9 percent).

The survey was conducted among 2,400 individuals aged 18 years old and above, with a ± 2% error margin with a 95% confidence level.

Subnational estimates for each of the geographic areas covered in the survey (i.e., Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao) have a ± 4% error margin, also at a 95 percent confidence level.
