The Arts Research and Training Institute in Southern Tagalog Inc. (Artist Inc.) in partnership with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts will be holding Sanaysining Arts Workshop on Tour from Oct. 22 to Nov. 29.
Sanaysining Arts School is the regular art skills training workshop conducted yearly for artists, cultural workers, artist-teachers, educators, organizers, cultural researchers and pedagogue. It aims to develop the educational, artistic, research and organizational capabilities of the participants through hands-on-a activities, games, exercises and laboratory workshops.
When it launched in 1989, Sanaysining introduced 10 short courses on arts and culture. Since then, it developed 15 short courses that include trainings for students and teachers of arts and design track, special program for the arts, Music, Arts, Physical Education and Health (MAPEH) and other related subjects across curriculum.
This year, through the assistance of Artist Pars Association Inc. and the Department of Education, the Sanaysining Arts Workshop on Tour is offering courses on directing and curatorship, music composition and production, arts management, dance and creative movement, improvisation and devised theatre, creative writing, visual and media arts, and developing heritage-based learning resources.
Trainings will be conducted in cooperation with different schools and various organizations in Luzon, namely: Telbang National High School, Alaminos City (Pangasinan: Oct. 22-24); Canossa Academy, Calamba City (Laguna: Nov. 8-10); Barzaga Integrated High School, Dasmarinas City (Cavite: November 13-15); Galvan National High School, Guimba (Nueva Ecija: Nov. 20-22); Artist Center, Los Banos (Laguna: Nov. 22-24); and Bay Central School, Bay (Laguna: Nov. 27-29). Each training workshop will culminate into either short performances and/or exhibits.
