A security guard who shot and killed a 15-year-old student inside a classroom in Calamba, Laguna has been arrested, a radio dzMM report, beamed nationwide, said Tuesday.
The suspect was identified as Renz Ivan Valderama, also known as Renando Valderama, was arrested in Barangay Pansol in Calamba, Laguna before 4 a.m. after he was spotted by residents, according to eyewitnesses.
The eyewitnesses had said Valderama, jailed in 2017 for theft according to police, entered the classroom at around 12:30 p.m. last July 4 and shot the 15-year-old victim before escaping.
Witnesses quoted a caretaker as saying Valderama was able to enter the school by mingling with construction workers who had entered the premises.
Relatives of the victim earlier said the two had a relationship until last month after the student accused Valderama of raping him from March to June of this year.
