Immigration authorities arrested two undocumented aliens wanted by authorities in Korea and China for fraud in separate enforcement operations.

BI Fugitive Search Unit Chief Bobby Raquepo identified the fugitives as Korean national Kim Dae Yeop,  and Chinese national Jiang Rongqun, who were arrested in Malate and Binondo, respectively.

Kim is wanted by authorities in Korea for defrauding payment a closed circuit television firm worth 250 million Korean Won, while Jiang is wanted by Chinese authorities for fraud and economic crimes.

The BI operations were in cooperation with operatives from the Korean National Police Agency and Chinese Interpol in arresting the aliens.

BI Commissioner Jaime Morente said this was not only about fugitives getting away with their crimes. This is more importantly about the threat they pose to the security of Filipinos.

Morente reiterated the warning against fugitives hiding in the Philippines, saying “we are in close coordination with foreign counterparts in hunting down these criminals, and we will not stop until justice is served.

Those arrested will be detained at the BI detention facility in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City pending their deportation.
