“Maring” expected to make landfall in Quezon

Tropical Depression "Maring" is expected to make landfall in Mauban, Quezon on Tuesday morning.

PAGASA reports, the weather disturbance has slightly intensified as it continues to move towards Quezon and Aurora.

Maring will continue to bring moderate to heavy rains over Bicol, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Metro Manila, Central Luzon and Pangasinan.

The tropical depression is located 135 kilometers east of Infanta, Quezon.

It packs maximum sustained winds of up to 55 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 65 kph.

Maring is forecast to move west northwest at 11 kph.

Signal number 1 is up over the following areas:

Metro Manila

Catanduanes

Csmarines Sur

Northern Quezon including Polillo Island

Rizal

Bulacan

Pampanga

Quirino

Nueva Ecija

Nueva Vizcaya

Benguet

La Union

Tarlac

Zambales

Bataan

Pangasinan

Laguna

Aurora

Meanwhile, PAGASA is monitoring a second weather disturbance off extreme Northern Luzon. 

Typhoon "Lannie" (local name: Talim) has maintained its strength as it moves in west northwest direction.

The tropical cyclone is located 1,255 kilometers east of Aparri, Cagayan.

Lannie brings maximum sustained winds of up to 120 kph and gustiness of up to 145 kph.

It is forecast to move west northwest at 26 kph.

By Thursday evening, Lannie is expected to be 670 kilometers north northwest of Basco, Batanes outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
