Senior citizens and persons with disabilities will now enjoy a 20 percent discount on their online bookings for domestic flights, the Palace said Thursday.

This was made possible after the Department of Transportation-Civil Aeronautics Board approved a resolution on the matter on July 13.

The full implementation, however, for discounts on domestic flights will be in effect after two months, Presidential Spokesperson Ernesto Abella said.

“Airlines are expected to fully implement a virtual system, which should apply discount on online transactions. Meanwhile, a summary of amount indicating the 20 percent discount should be presented to the senior citizens before the completion of transaction. In return, necessary IDs are expected to be presented,” Abella said.

Meanwhile, Abella added that motorists traversing the Skyway connecting to the Naia Expressway won’t have to pay toll fees for a month.

The P20 toll fee in Skyway connecting to the NAIA Expressway, has been waived effective since July 26 and will not be collected for one month “to reduce expenses of motorists who are using the Skyway going to NAIA,” according to Abella.

Under the present scheme, motorists would have to pay 20 pesos for using the Skyway and another 35 pesos when exiting the NAIA Exit ramp if they’re going to the airports.
