More than 400 soldiers from Western Visayas are heading to Marawi City on Saturday.
They will augment the government forces fighting the Maute terrorists.
A send-off ceremony for the soldiers was held at Iloilo International Airport.
This is just before they boarded the C-130 plane of the Philippine Army that will take them to strife-torn Marawi.
Some of the families of the soldiers were seen weeping as they hugged farewell to the combatants.
