As early as 6 in the morning on Monday, government forces have resumed “surgical strikes” against the Maute terrorists in Marawi City.

Military helicopters conducted air raids.

Firing from machine guns and snipers could be heard across the city.

In the Palace, Presidential Spokesperson Ernesto Abella says, the figure includes four Maute terrorists who fell a few hours ago during the military operations in Marawi City.

Government troops rescued 16 civilians caught in the crossfire.

The number of civilians killed during the previous days of fighting remains at 19.

About twenty soldiers and three cops have also died.

The figure for injured soldiers continues to sharply increase and is now at 72.
