The local government of Valenzuela, its local police and the Valenzuela Anti-Drug Abuse Council (Vadac) have developed “Project Double Barrel,” a combination of Project Tokhang and Project HVT/LVT (High value target/Low-value target).
Project Double Barrel on Sunday hosted an anti-drug motorcade at 6:00 a.m. from Polo Brewery-Tullahan Bridge in Barangay Marulas; the signing of the VAD manifest of commitment by stakeholders to be headed by Valenzuela Mayor Rex Gatchalian and city police chief Senior Supt. Ronaldo Mendoza; and the VAD 90-day countdown to “Drug-Free City.”
VAD is a four-phase plan that aims to make Valenzuela a drug-free city within 90 days.It covers the phases of preparation, clearing, development, and monitoring and assessment.
The combined strategies aim to identify and neutralize drug personalities from street pushers to big-time drug lords, investigate and prosecute drug offenders, treat and rehabilitate illegal drug personalities, and revitalize barangays as self-policing entities and partners against the drug menace.
