The Philippine Embassy in Manama issued an advisory reminding Filipinos in the Kingdom of Bahrain to refrain from taking and sharing videos, conducting unauthorized livestreaming, or posting related content on social media without proper authorization in light of the regional situation.
“This reminder follows the advisory of Bahraini authorities to strictly observe existing digital and cyber regulations. The Kingdom continues to actively enforce its cyber laws to safeguard national security and maintain public order,” the advisory read.
The embassy also reminded residents of the importance of online vigilance, urging them to exercise responsibility and sound judgment before posting or sharing any content.
The warning follows circulating social media videos depicting the ongoing missile attacks in the Kingdom.
For its part, Bahrain’s Ministry of Interior earlier warned that filming or sharing such videos could lead to legal consequences, as it may threaten security and order.
It reported that authorities have identified and arrested four individuals for filming and publishing videos related to the effects of the Iranian attacks.
