Agents seize P23-m illegal drugs in Pasay City

Narcotics agents stationed at Ninoy Aquino International Airport have intercepted two shipments of illegal drugs worth over P22.9 million at a Customs bonded warehouse in Pasay City.

A composite team from the Bureau of Customs – Port of NAIA, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), and the NAIA Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group (NAIA-IADITG) carried out the operation at the OBC Warehouse in the NAIA Complex last week.

The operatives are now focused on tracing the distribution networks linked to this smuggling operation, which could lead to further arrests and a deeper understanding of the drug trafficking routes.

The packages, both declared as CCTV kits, were subjected to verification following derogatory information from PDEA. Laboratory examination of extracted samples confirmed the presence of methamphetamine hydrochloride, commonly known as shabu.
