‘Basyang’ disrupts 8 domestic flights—CAAP

Tropical storm ‘Basyang’ has caused the cancellation of eight domestic flights, impacting hundreds of travelers in Cebu, Siargao, and Manila on Thursday, February 5.

In its advisory, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) announced that Philippine Airlines (PAL) had suspended eight flights “due to the proximity of Tropical Storm ‘Basyang’ as of 10 a.m.”

The cancellations comprised four PAL Express flights operating between Cebu and Siargao, along with two flights in Clark traveling to and from Siargao, in addition to two flights in Manila also going to and from Siargao.

CAAP has encouraged travelers to frequently check the official channels of their respective airlines for the most recent updates and flight advisories.

The agency is actively monitoring the situation and reiterates that ensuring aviation safety is its utmost priority.
