The Philippine Embassy in Spain on Wednesday issued an advisory urging Filipinos to exercise extreme caution after Spain’s meteorological agency raised a red-level weather alert in parts of Andalucía, including Cádiz and Málaga.
The embassy said the forecast includes heavy rainfall, strong winds, possible flooding, and hazardous sea conditions in the affected areas.
Filipino nationals in or traveling to these areas were advised to strictly follow instructions from Spanish authorities and emergency services at all times.
The advisory also urged the public to avoid coastal areas, riverbanks, and low-lying or flood-prone locations, and to prepare for possible disruptions to transport and essential services.
AEMET warned that rainfall could exceed 150 liters per square meter within 12 hours, with an “extraordinary danger” alert in effect in the Ronda area starting midnight.
