The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has reopened repaired sections of the EDSA Busway in Makati City, easing traffic flow along the major thoroughfare.

The reopened areas include the southbound lane from Taft Avenue to Orense Street and the northbound lane from Magallanes Avenue to Orense Street.

“These sections were part of the ongoing EDSA Rehabilitation Project aimed at improving road conditions and commuter safety,” the DPWH said in a statement.

With the rehabilitation of EDSA, DPWH continues intensive asphalt overlay works on the remaining portions of the busway. Ongoing repairs cover the southbound section from Taft Avenue to Roxas Boulevard and the northbound section from Roxas Boulevard to Magallanes Avenue.

Pavement markings are also being installed to ensure proper lane guidance for motorists and public transport.

Starting January 5, repair works along EDSA will be conducted nightly from 10:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. the following day. According to DPWH, the adjusted schedule is intended to minimize traffic disruption and avoid inconvenience to motorists during peak rush hours.

DPWH advised motorists to remain cautious, follow traffic signs, and expect possible temporary lane closures as rehabilitation works continue.
