NAIA logs nearly 5 million passengers in December 2025

The New NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC), the airport’s private operator, reported December as the busiest month with 4.86 million passengers, including 2.367 million international travelers.

In 2025, Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) achieved a record annual passenger traffic of 52.02 million, driven by heightened demand for air travel.

NNIC said the records encompass all airport activities, including domestic, outbound and returning Filipino travel, business travel, and connecting traffic.

“Despite the surge in passenger numbers, airport operations remained stable during peak times, bolstered by operational enhancements made throughout the year,” it added.

These enhancements included the introduction of new biometric immigration e-Gates financed by NNIC, improvements to passenger processing systems and terminal facilities, and enhanced collaboration among airlines, government agencies, and airport stakeholders.

“Effectively managing increased passenger volumes necessitates both infrastructure and close collaboration,” stated NNIC. “Our emphasis has been on enhancing flow, minimizing bottlenecks, and ensuring the airport can accommodate peak demand more efficiently.”

Throughout 2025, NNIC executed passenger-focused initiatives designed to enhance efficiency, safety, and the overall airport experience, while closely collaborating with government partners to facilitate smoother end-to-end travel.

NAIA functions as the primary aviation hub of the Philippines, managing both domestic and international operations. Under the public-private partnership, NNIC oversees the operations, maintenance, and modernization of the airport, while ownership remains with the government.
