The Northern Luzon Alliance in the House of Representatives affirmed its “unequivocal and collective support” for President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., rallying behind his administration and its national agenda.
Composed of 40 lawmakers from Regions I and II and the Cordillera Administrative Region, the alliance stated that its declaration was based on duty, principle, and the need to safeguard national stability.
“Guided by our sworn duty to advance the national interest and to uphold the integrity of our democratic institutions, we stand united behind the President’s governance agenda for a stable, progressive, and future-ready Philippines,” the alliance said in a two-page manifesto issued on Thursday.
The statement of support came amid reports of an ouster plot against Dy.
Reports said that some congressmen want to install Deputy Speaker Ronaldo Puno as the House chief, in preparation for the alleged impeachment case to be filed against President Marcos.
The alliance said it is committed to strengthening national stability and advancing the President’s socio-economic transformation plan.
“We affirm our unwavering commitment to work in harmony with the Executive in order to strengthen national stability through sound, evidence-based policymaking; advance the President’s socio-economic transformation agenda anchored on food security, digital modernization, economic expansion, and strengthened human capital; support the full implementation of infrastructure development programs that enhance connectivity, competitiveness and inclusive regional growth; and champion legislation that tangibly improves the lives of ordinary Filipinos particularly farmers, fisherfolk, workers, educators and micro-entrepreneurs,” the manifesto stated.
The bloc also expressed full support for the President’s “decisive and uncompromising policy direction in curbing corruption across all levels of government.”
“We affirm the Administration’s efforts to strengthen institutional safeguards that promote transparency, efficiency and accountability in the use of public funds; institutionalize digital governance, streamlined processes and open data systems to minimize bureaucratic discretion and opportunities for graft; enforce strict disciplinary action against erring officials and employees, consistent with the principles of due process and public trust; and promote ethical governance and a professionalized civil service that upholds merit, integrity and the highest standards of public duty,” it added.
The alliance further aligned itself with the administration’s long-term vision for resilience, food security, education, peace and order, and climate adaptation.
“We champion the Administration’s initiatives that advance structural reforms and long-term national resilience, particularly in strengthening agriculture and irrigation systems to ensure food security and higher rural production; investing in climate adaptation, disaster preparedness and environmental protection; enhancing education, skills development and youth empowerment programs that build a globally competitive workforce; and advancing peace, order and regional development initiatives that guarantee safety, stability, and equitable growth across all provinces, especially in Northern Luzon.”
The Northern Luzon Alliance concluded its manifesto with a unified declaration of commitment to legislation, good governance, and national stability.
“In view of the foregoing, we hereby formally declare: Our unwavering support to President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. and his Administration; Our full commitment to pass legislation aligned with the President’s national agenda; Our firm determination to uphold transparency, accountability and the rule of law; and Our unyielding resolve to protect the integrity of our institutions and preserve national stability. With one voice, we stand prepared to work collaboratively and constructively with the Executive Branch in pursuit of a more prosperous, orderly, and united Philippines.”
