The Department of National Defense (DND) on Thursday said the latest OCTA Research Tugon ng Masa survey reaffirms the enduring trust of the Filipino people in the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and highlights the growing sense of patriotism and unity among citizens.
DND spokesperson Arsenio Andolong acknowledged the survey findings, saying it demonstrates strong public support for the AFP’s ongoing efforts to defend the country’s sovereignty and maintain peace and security.
“The message is clear: foreign malign influence activities in the country, aided by efforts of disingenuous Filipinos with personal and political interests, remain ineffective in weakening the integrity of the military, the chain of command, and our enduring commitment to defend every inch of our territory,” the DND said.
According to OCTA’s third quarter 2025 survey conducted from September 25 to 30, 73 percent of adult Filipinos expressed trust in the AFP, while an equal 73 percent said they were satisfied with its performance.
These figures correspond to a net trust rating of +66 and a net satisfaction rating of +68, indicating continued confidence in the military’s role in safeguarding national security.
The AFP attributed its high public trust and satisfaction ratings to the professionalism of its members who remain in active service despite organized efforts by some camps to sow division between the military and its retired personnel through online disinformation campaigns.
“The AFP leadership extends its gratitude to every soldier, airman, sailor, and marine whose professionalism and selfless service have earned the respect and trust of our people,” the AFP said on Wednesday, reacting to the survey.
“Together with the Filipino people, the AFP will continue to build a strong, modern, and credible Armed Forces that our nation can always rely on,” the military added.
