The aviation regulator reported that four international flights at Manila Airport to and from Xiamen and Hong Kong, as well as two domestic flights at Clark International Airport to and from Basco, were suspended by Philippine Airlines (PAL) on Tuesday, September 23.

The flag carrier also canceled six international flights at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), scheduled for Wednesday, September 24, going to and from Hong Kong.

On Monday, September 22, more than 20 flights were suspended, including 12 from PAL, affecting air travelers in NAIA and Clark going to and from Cauayan, Laoag, Tuguegarao, and Basco; 13 flights in Taipei, Kaohsiung, Basco, Manila, Laoag, and Busuanga of Cebu Pacific Air (CEB) and its sister airline CebGo, and two flights in Busuanga and El Nido from AirSwift.

Five domestic flights were also diverted on Monday, affecting passengers of PAL Express, CEB, CebGo, and AirAsia Philippines in Manila, Kalibo, Dipolog, Dumaguete, and Busuanga.

Meanwhile, there have been no significant damages reported at the airports in Basco, Tuguegarao, Cauayan, Laoag, and Baguio as a result of CAAP’s proactive safety precautions implemented in preparation for Super Typhoon Nando.

All facilities and runways continue to be safe and fully operational.

CAAP information officer Bea Bernardo said the agency continues to closely monitor weather developments and is in active coordination with airline operators and airport authorities to ensure the safety and welfare of the traveling public. She added that additional advisories will be issued as needed.

CAAP advised air travelers to contact their airlines directly for real-time updates, rebooking options, or refund procedures.
