NHA distributes cash aid to typhoon victims

Around 1,144 residents from various barangays in Manila, who were affected by recent calamities, have received cash aid totaling P11.44 million from the National Housing Authority (NHA) through its Emergency Housing Assistance Program (EHAP).

NHA General Manager Joeben Tai, with Manila City Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso, led the distribution of P10,000 to each family whose homes were partially damaged by the southwest monsoon and typhoons Crising, Emong, and Dante. Tai said he hopes the aid will help improve the situation of beneficiaries.

The recipients were selected through assessment, validation, and data consolidation conducted by the NHA West Sector Office, led by Regional Manager Engr. Wenson Reyes, in coordination with Manila’s social welfare office. Moreno noted that the event marked the first NHA EHAP distribution under his administration. Maricel V. Cruz

The NHA said another EHAP distribution is set for Caloocan City in the coming days.
