The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) on Friday afternoon recorded a magnitude 5.0 earthquake off the coast of Davao Oriental.
The earthquake was logged 8 kilometers southeast of Caraga, Davao Oriental, at 3:08 p.m.

Intensity II (slightly felt) was reported in Digos, Davao del Sur; Nabunturan, Davao de Oro; and Malungon in Sarangani.
While no damage is expected, Phivolcs warned of aftershocks.
According to the state seismology bureau, the earthquake was tectonic in origin.
