The Philippine and United States navies are seeking to outline the future of their cooperative undertakings, coinciding with US Independence Day and Philippine-American Friendship Day.
In a statement Sunday, the Philippine Navy (PN) said that US Navy Carrier Strike Group 5 Chief Rear Admiral Eric Anduze met with Navy Chief Vice Admiral Jose Ma Ambrosio Ezpeleta to reaffirm strong ties between the two nations.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening cooperation and strengthening maritime security in the Indo-Pacific region.
Discussions focused on ongoing and future joint activities, including naval exercises, ship visits, and opportunities for closer coordination on operations, training, and modernization, the PN further disclosed.
Anduze also expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and highlighted Filipino sailors’ importance in the US Navy.
“The visit reflects the strong and enduring alliance between the Philippine and US navies, built on shared values and a common goal of maintaining peace and stability in the region,” the PN said.
