President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Tuesday thanked Filipinos for ensuring the successful conduct of the 2025 midterm elections, describing it as “both a celebration of continuity and a call to act on the real challenges our people face.”
“Maraming salamat sa bawat Pilipinong bumoto (Thank you to every Filipino who voted),” the President said in a statement. “Once again, our democracy has renewed itself—peacefully, orderly and with dignity.”
Mr. Marcos expressed readiness to work with newly elected leaders, who now have the mandate to help his administration act on the Filipinos’ concerns such as inflation, employment, corruption, and daily burdens. “These are issues we must face head-on,” he said.
“Governance is a shared responsibility, a mission that requires unity and burden sharing for the common good. To the newly elected, regardless of party or coalition, I extend my hand. Let us move forward together—with open minds and a common purpose,” the President emphasized.
“To those who supported the candidates of Alyansa para sa Bagong Pilipinas, thank you for your trust. We may not have won every seat, but our work and mission continue,” he added.
Mr. Marcos also acknowledged those who did not win, commending their courage to seek public office. “Public service goes beyond elections. The work of nation-building needs all who are ready to serve,” he said.
Quoting his late father and namesake, the President reminded the nation that unity is key to progress: “If we are to prevail, we must prevail as Filipinos—for it is the only way to endure. If we are to attain our goals, we must march forward, not to the past but to the future.”
Of the 11 candidates his coalition supported in this year’s senatorial race, only six are likely to secure seats in the Senate namely Erwin Tulfo, Panfilo ‘Ping’ Lacson, Vicente ‘Tito’ Sotto III, Pia Cayetano, Lito Lapid, and Camille Villar.
Presidential sister and re-electionist Senator Imee Marcos used to be part of the ‘Alyansa’ ticket, but later aligned herself with his political adversary Vice President Sara Duterte. She remains in the Top 12 after the Commission on Elections (Comelec) processed nearly 100 percent of election returns.
