THE Philippine National Police -Supervisory Office for Security and Investigation Agencies (PNP-SOSIA) warns against persons impersonating police officers and soliciting money or donations from private security industry players.
The PNP-SOSIA raised the red flag following reports of people calling or contacting security agencies to ask for donations, whether monetary or “in kind” using the name of the PNP.
The unit clarified it does not conduct or allow any type of solicitation, hence this practice is illegal and tarnishes the image of the police.
It urged all stakeholders in the private security industry not to give anything to those impersonating PNP representatives and report the attempt to the authorities.
