A fugitive wanted for multiple sexual offenses was apprehended following a successful repatriation operation led by the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO).
The 56-year-old suspect, a Filipino electrician assistant who was formerly based in Abu Dhabi, was intercepted at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 at approximately 2:11 p.m. on Monday, April 14.
He is facing multiple charges in violation of several provisions under Republic Act 7610 or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Law. These include three counts of rape (non-bailable), two counts of lascivious conduct, and six counts of acts of lasciviousness.
These cases were filed before the regional trial court (RTC) Branch 5 of San Jose del Monte City, Bulacan. The fugitive was flagged with an INTERPOL Red Notice and a ₱160,000 bounty, according to a Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) memo.
The highly coordinated operation involved close collaboration with the Philippine Center on Transnational Crime (PCTC), the National Central Bureau–United Arab Emirates (UAE), and other national law enforcement agencies.
The fugitive was served his warrants of arrest upon arrival at NAIA Terminal 3 and informed of his constitutional rights in a language he understood. The entire procedure was documented using an alternative recording device.
NCRPO Chief Major Gen. Anthony Aberin praised the efforts of law enforcement operatives, saying the arrest delivers a strong message against individuals suspected of crime that “escaping justice is futile.”
“We will cross borders, close gaps, and confront criminals wherever they may be. No predator will find refuge beyond our reach,” Aberin said.
