President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. emphasized the government’s commitment to providing essential services to Filipinos during a visit to Biñan, Laguna, where he led a comprehensive jobs and health services fair on Friday.

Speaking at the event, President Marcos underscored the importance of collaboration between national and local governments in addressing public needs through a whole-of-government approach.

“We are here to ensure that services reach our people,” Mr. Marcos said.

“As long as you need assistance, your government will stand by you,” he added.

The fair included a job fair organized by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), offering 2,700 employment opportunities from 25 participating companies.

President Marcos praised the participating employers and highlighted the government’s efforts in matching job seekers with suitable opportunities.

“We are addressing the gap where workers are ready but lack the specific training required by employers. Through job matching, we connect workers with the right opportunities,” he said.

In addition to employment services, the event provided free medical consultations, laboratory services, and diagnostic tests.

President Marcos expressed gratitude to healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and medical technologists, who volunteered their time.

He also acknowledged the role of the DOLE’s Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program in supporting displaced workers and providing temporary livelihood opportunities.

Additionally, beneficiaries of the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS) 1 were present, with some celebrating their graduation from government aid. Key Cabinet officials, including DOLE Secretary Benny Laguesma, Department of Health Secretary Ted Herbosa, and Department of Social Welfare and Development Secretary Rex Gatchalian, joined Mr. Marcos. The president reaffirmed the government’s dedication to continuing these outreach efforts nationwide. “Even when I am not physically present, these service fairs will continue across the country,” the president said. “Your government is here to serve,” he added.
