The Embassy of Japan in the Philippines announced on Wednesday it will begin its operations for the Japan Visa Application Center (JVAC) on April 7, 2025 powered by VFS Service Philippines, Inc.
The Embassy is inviting all Filipinos who plan to visit Japan to apply and collect their visas through its branches in the cities of Parañaque, Makati, Quezon, Cebu and Davao. Exact addresses for these sites can be found here.
Filipinos may apply for their visas during the following schedules:
Application Hours: Monday to Friday from 7:00AM to 2:00PM (Parañaque, Makati, Quezon City); 7:00AM to 12:00AM (Cebu, Davao)
Releasing: Monday to Friday from 7:00AM to 4:00PM
The Embassy noted it has likewise opened its online appointment website on March 19, 2025. Visa applicants are advised to check the website for details on how to apply for Japan Visa: info.Japanphp@vfshelpline.com
The Embassy added that all visa applications coursed through its accredited agencies will no longer be accepted by April 6, 2025. Beginning April 7, applications shall be accepted and processed at the JVAC.
“Please note that if you applied through an accredited agency before April 6, 2025, the release of your passport will also be at the agency where you applied,” the Embassy said.
Important Reminders
1. Visa application at the center will incur a visa fee and a center usage fee (P500). The fee may vary depending on nationality and application.
2. Visa fee and center usage fee must be paid at the time of application.
3. For cases related to diplomatic or official passports, or urgent cases requiring humanitarian consideration, please contact the Embassy or its nearest Cebu or Davao Consulate.
Common Visa Requirements
To apply for a Japanese visa, one must prepare the following documents:
- Valid Passport: Ensure your passport is up to date and signed.
- Visa Application Form: Complete the form and attach a recent 4.5×3.5cm facial photo.
- Multiple-Entry Visa Request Form: If you wish to apply for a multiple-entry visa, submit this form. The embassy will evaluate if you qualify based on your financial capacity.
PSA-Issued Birth Certificate & Marriage Certificate: A birth certificate is required, and married applicants must also submit a marriage certificate. Both documents must be issued within the past year.
